Students explore, develop and implement in material in two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of textile art, theory and history of modern textile art, issues of authors’ implementations in technical, aesthetic and artistic aspects.
Students learn the latest trends that make up the image of contemporary textile art. Emphasis is placed on experimental and artistic tasks for two-dimensional and three-dimensional textiles, textile sculpture, installation, creating textile objects using various techniques, technologies and materials.
In the first year there is a wide range of projects, demonstrations and lectures that help further develop the capabilities of students in a higher level of understanding in this area. This helps the student to work with a wide range of textile weaving, non-weaving and printing techniques, knitting, embroidery, felt, etc. and using different materials to create a work of art in the field of textile. These are works designed for public or residential interior and exterior, exhibition spaces and many others.
This course ends with a diploma thesis and its defense. The student produces a thesis in material on a selected topic in the field of textiles as art and develop an individual research project, supported by a written text – essay. The thesis can be implemented in industrial environments, if the individual research project is directed in this area.
